Escape to the Surface

Story:

In the past the hero was a great knight of honor, known for defeating the many horrors of the world the hero inhabited. After years of combat, you retired to a quiet hamlet with your family and remaining friends. 

However, on a day of ceremony, your family and your friends were slaughtered mercilessly by the dark forces of the under ground. Seeking vengeance, you set back out into the world to eliminate the filthy scum that attacked your family.

Unbeknownst to the hero, he set camp next to the entrance of a dungeon. When night approached, the evils poured out of the dungeon and ambushed the hero in his sleep. Taken captive, the hero was brought down to the deepest cell in the dungeon where he was tortured without remorse.

Using his enemies carelessness, the hero escaped from his confinement and begins to seek his righteous vengeance against his captors.

Game Mechanics:

Platformer-

General platforming mechanics, passable platforms, multi-level environments.

Combat-

General combat mechanics.

Objective-Based levels:

Collect keys to unlock doors, clear arenas to progress further in level.

Inventory & Consumables:

Basic inventory system, health potions.

Blessings:

Stat bonuses that give the player the edge.
